Red Alfred Ntuli wire vase

Part of his new 2020 series Alfred Ntuli Collection is Bab’Ntuli’s red medium vase hand woven for 2 weeks in coils of red wire, and patterns of yellow and blue crosses  makes colorful collection piece.

Alfred Bingukufa Ntuli is a master weaver who uses wire to weave Zulu baskets that resemble beer containers traditionally woven with ilala palm. Alfred was taught by the late pioneer master weaver Elliot Mkhize.
